Long time, no write!
For a few months we were honestly pretty worried about the upcoming maple season. We didn’t want to alarm you all, but there was a real possibility we might not have been able to produce as much of the good stuff as we hoped. Last year we ordered supplies for expanding our maple operation. The most crucial part, a vacuum pump, ended up lost in transit for months. Something new!
We’ve been extra busy here on the farm for the best of reasons; a new little beekeeper joined our crew last month! All the others are obsessed so far and can’t get enough of holding the littlest one. While we haven’t been getting as much knocked off the to do list, that hasn’t stopped us from planning. Our lists are drawn up and we’re just about ready to start tackling them again. What do pasture raised eggs have to do with homeschooling? A lot!
It’s officially firefly season! We’ve tried taking a picture to capture the magic but just haven’t been able to do it justice. We can’t believe how well our beehives have been doing over the past month! We’ve successfully made six splits (new hives) already because the bees have been so productive. Our apiary

Bees, sourdough, and mushrooms - oh my!
Things have been a bit slower here lately vs maple season but we’re still constantly on the move. We picked up our nucs and got them settled in our apiary. When we checked on them the other day they’ve exploded in growth and might need to be split soon to create even more hives! We also set out several swarm traps. Fingers crossed we get some additional honey bees to expand our apiary even more! We checked our wild cultivated mushrooms recently and are thrilled to announce th
